Caudill student one of 200 selected for Kentucky Children’s Chorus

Cassidy Jones, a sixth-grade student at B. Michael Caudill Middle School, has been accepted as a member of the 2013 Kentucky Children’s Chorus.

Comprised of 200 students from across Kentucky, chorus members are selected through a series of comprehensive audition.

Cassidy is a member of the Richmond Area Arts Council's Treble Clef Youth Chorus directed by Deborah Kidd. Her music teacher at B. Michael Caudill is Ben Walker. She is the daughter of Paula and Phil Jones of Richmond.

Cassidy will rehearse with the state honors chorus Wednesday and Thursday in Louisville as part of the Kentucky Music Educators Professional Development Conference.

The Kentucky Children’s Chorus concert will present a concert 5:15 p.m. Thursday in Whitney Hall of the Kentucky Center for the Arts.

Concert selections include Panis Angelicus by Cesar Franck, a Cirandeiro a Brazilian folk song arranged by Brad Green, Quiet Sea by Jill Friedersdorf and Melissa Malvar-Keylock, Shine on Me a traditional spiritual arranged by Rollo Dilworth, and This Little Light of Mine arranged by Ken Berg.
