Madison County Sheriff Jerry Combs, left, and his twin brother, Magistrate Larry Combs, both have undergone liver transplants because of a hereditary disease. Jerry continues to recover from his October 2012 transplant surgery, and Larry still thrives after he received a donor liver five years ago. The Combs were the first two Madison County residents to receive a small, blue heart with the words "Organ Donor" which will designate them as a potential organ donors.
